Make Spotify GLOW for Pride with Trixie Mattel, Urias, and Dana International

Earlier this year, Spotify launched GLOW, an always on global music program focused on LGBTQIA+ artists and culture. Throughout the year, Spotify amplifies artists globally on the GLOW hub, the ultimate audio destination on-platform for discovering queer artists, creators, playlists and podcasts.

To celebrate Pride this year, Spotify is turning up the volume on underrepresented LGBTQIA+ voices across 26 markets through 3 spotlight artists, local playlists, themed podcast playlists and new podcast episodes. With GLOW, Spotify aims to create a space on-platform where everyone is “Free to Be,” no matter their background.

In celebration of Pride 2023, Spotify will focus on spotlighting 3 LGBTQIA+ artists:

  • Multifaceted American drag queen, singer-songwriter and pop culture icon Trixie Mattel
  • Brazilian genre-bending, pop-soul artist and model Urias
  • Trailblazing Israeli pop artist Dana International

As GLOW’s spotlight artists for Pride, Spotify will amplify Trixie Mattel, Urias and Dana International through editorial, social and marketing support including billboard features in New York City’s Times Square and NYC subway lines throughout June, as well as individual playlist covers for Spotify’s GLOW global flagship playlist. Additionally, keep an eye out during the month of June for exclusive interviews on Spotify’s official blog, For the Record.

“Spotify is committed to elevating queer voices during Pride and year-round, as we honor the extraordinary contributions of the LGBTQIA+ community across global music and culture,” said Bel Aztiria, Global Music Programs and Social Equity Lead at Spotify.

“Trixie Mattel, Urias, and Dana International captivate us all by showcasing their talents and staying true to their authentic selves. Queer voices play a vital role in the world as we continue to embrace inclusion and representation, and provide a space where every artist is fully recognized and free to express themselves.”

Listeners of the GLOW flagship playlist will hear playlist stories from Victoria Monet, TAALIAH, Isak Danielsson, G Flip and more, highlighting the need to amplify and celebrate LGBTQIA+ communities. Additionally, Spotify is creating local GLOW playlists available in Thailand, Israel, Spain, Italy, Poland, the Nordics, the U.K. and Ireland, and North America.

The GLOW hub will see the addition of podcasts and podcast playlists where fans can tune into stories and experiences of LGBTQIA+ hosts and guests; with new episodes discussing underground LGBTQIA+ subcultures on The BBC Club, Camp Counselors, Two Dykes and a Mic, Aware and Aggravated and the Ty French Podcast
