Travel advice as CDC issues warning about Bahamas and popular winter escapes
Desperate for your snowbird sojourn? Before you plan your trip to paradise this winter, here is a little travel advice.
Some unwelcome news for travelers looking to escape to warmer weather this winter. The CDC is advising travelers avoid several popular vacation spots because they are now at a level 4 – very high Covid-19 risk.
This includes the Bahamas, which is a top international destination for Arizona residents (according to data from InsureMyTrip).
Let’s break down the numbers:
- 4 – Bahamas is the fourth most visited international destination for Arizona residents.
- 4 – The Bahamas’ ranking in the top 25 destinations for U.S. travelers
- $4,265 – The average cost of a trip to The Bahamas.
The Bahamas isn’t the only popular winter getaway on the “very high risk” list.
Some of the biggest travel names include:
- Turks & Caicos
- Bermuda
- British Virgin Islands
- St. Lucia
- Argentina
There is some good news if you have a trip planned for The Bahamas or any of the high-risk countries. There is still time to buy travel insurance.
While you’ll have access to the most benefits when purchasing travel insurance soon after booking a trip, there are still plenty of benefits available if you’re looking to purchase a comprehensive plan last minute.
These benefits may include:
- Cancel for Any Reason (depending on when you booked)
- Trip Cancellation
- Trip Interruption
- Emergency Medical
- Quarantine Coverage
- Weather Delay
- Baggage Loss/Delay
