Watch the trailer for gay teen drama, Lie with Me

Cinephobia Releasing has announced the North American acquisition of Olivier Peyon’s Lie with Me. The romance drama will premiere at upcoming film festivals and enjoy a limited theatrical run before coming out on DVD/VOD later this year.

The film, stars Guillaume de Tonquebec and Victor Belmondo and was based on Philippe Besson’s novel, Arrête avec tes mensonges, (the English language translation by Molly Ringwald.)

I the film, Stéphane, a celebrated novelist, visits his hometown on a book signing tour where he meets Lucas, a young man who, he discovers, is the son of Thomas, the writer’s teen lover. Emotions flood Stéphane as these memories of their life changing affair overwhelm him.

“A moving film that explores first love and heartbreak… incredible performances and a devastatingly good plot makes this a film not to be missed,” says the UK Film Review.

Lie with Me has premiered at the French American Film Festival in LA and London’s BFI Flare with upcoming screenings scheduled for San Francisco’s Frameline, Miami’s Outshine and Boston’s Wicked Queer.
