Write It Out! is calling for HIV+ playwrights

Created by award-winning playwright Donja R. Love, Write It Out! provides an affirming space for people living with HIV to create their narratives in a theatrical framing.

Writers accepted into the ten-week program will participate in virtual workshops twice a week led by Donja R. Love that will focus on creating a community for people of similar lived experience to express themselves freely. The program will culminate in a sharing of the participants’ work at The Lark with professional actors and directors.

By placing PLWHIV at its core, Write It Out! (WIO!) builds community for people of similar lived experiences to express themselves freely while amplifying the visibility of PLWHIV in the theater and beyond. WIO! partners include Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDSMOBINational Queer TheaterThe Each Other Project, and The Lark.

Applications for the 2021 edition of Write It Out! are now open and will be accepted through Sunday, August 15 at 11:59 PM ET.

All writers who are 18 or older and living with HIV are invited to apply to the program at www.LetsWriteItOut.com

Write It Out! prioritizes the confidentiality of all applicants and participants.
