Portugal’s First Gay Resort Opens In Lisbon

Last weekend (Saturday, Oct 20th) saw the opening of the Portugal’s first gay resort hotel, Villa 3 Caparica in Lisbon.

The owners of Lisbon’s very popular bear bar Bar Tr3s Lisboa combined forces with gay builders to establish this very well-appointed gay resort.

The owners, being bears themselves and organisers of Lisbon Bear Pride, have a close relationship with the bear community and want to ensure that a lot of the events held at Villa 3 Caparica will be bear orientated.

The hotel consists of 13 thoughtfully appointed rooms with even the smallest detail well thought through to ensure maximum comfort for guests. One room is designed specifically for guests with restricted mobility.

The wider resort features a heated swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. There are massage services available to guests and a well-stocked bar offering drinks and snacks from 9am through to midnight every day, plus a generous breakfast to kick start the day.

The resort will host weekly parties in the high season and special events in the low season, plus the resort will be bookable for weddings in the low season too.

Day guests are welcome into the resort to enjoy its spa features for just €25.

As an extra sign of its community focus, Villa 3 Caparica uses local Portuguese suppliers, where possible, including IT, mattresses and even toilet paper!
