World’s first cyber penis has been created by a queer Black woman
Who gets to acquire a penis the nonbiological way? More people than you might think, thanks to technology—and this Black woman.
Bridging the gap between sex tech and cyberpunk, the VDOM presents an app-controlled prosthetic penis that can move between flaccid and erect with a single swipe, even from 250ft, has launched.
The VDOM, created by Atlanta, Georgia-based black female entrepreneur and cybersecurity expert Glenise Kinard-Moore, is a seriously sophisticated alternative to the old-fashioned strap-on. The hyper-realistic prosthetic made of medical grade, ultra-soft, high quality silicone can be worn comfortably all day by all genders, works hands free, and rests in a flaccid state until called on for action.
The wearer of the VDOM can use a proprietary app that also allows their partner to take control of the device. Partners can also send each other ping notifications when they are ready for intimacy.
When you think about it, the app functionality of the product calls for a consideration of its cybersecurity, which makes Kinard-Moore the ideal candidate for the work. Kinard-Moore, a certified information security professional who also runs tech start-up SkiiMoo Tech, developed the VDOM because she wanted to make love to her wife and felt hampered by limited and ineffective products.
The app does allow for designated blackout times when the VDOM cannot be activated. People using the connected apps can also ping each other when ready for intimacy.
Inspiration For the VDOM
“To put it bluntly, I love sex, and I wanted to be able to have sex with my wife anywhere, at any time, and just as easily as heterosexual couples can without any awkwardness,” says Kinard-Moore.
“The VDOM is by far the most challenging idea that I have worked on. But I felt like it had to be done for many reasons. There are many people who experience certain physical sexual restrictions – including ED and paraplegia – but only a very small handful of solutions that even to try to address those issues. I wanted to use my tech skills and knowledge to challenge myself to find a solution.
The prosthetic penis attaches to specially designed VDOM underwear, which can be comfortably worn by any gender. Penis-owners with ED or other challenges to achieving erection can wear the underwear and snap the VDOM over the top as an alternative option to medication or awkward medical prosthetic devices.
Its patented flexi cushion allows it to sit flush to the pelvis without discomfort.
The VDOM will retail at $675 and is currently available for limited pre-orders. To pre-order, sign up for free VIP Membership on the VDOM site. VIP members get exclusive email updates, $200 off the VDOM retail price and a free pair of VDOM custom underwear that retails for $65.
