Poof! Or What Fairies Know to play at Dixon Place, New York

Dixon Place, one of New York’s leading homes of experimental performance work, is honored to have Celeste (formerly James) Lecesne return with their brand new show!

In 2015, Dixon Place premiered The Absolute Brightness of Leonard Pelkey for 2 months, which subsequently moved uptown. We hope you’ll take this special opportunity to be the first NYC audience to see POOF! (Come early & enjoy a cocktail in support of Dixon Place.

What’s it all about?

Fairies have always enjoyed a close association with the natural world. But with so much of the natural world under threat from Climate Change, the fairies are not pleased, and they are beginning to show up in surprising ways!

Celeste Lecesne (formerly James Lecesne, and now goes by he/they) wrote the Academy Award winning short film Trevor and is co-founder of The Trevor Project, the only nationwide suicide prevention & crisis intervention Lifeline for LGBTQ+ youth, as well as The Future Perfecta national  queer youth arts initiative. Celeste is well known for his award-winning show The Absolute Brightness of Leonard Pelkey (workshopped at Dixon Place) for which the NY Times wrote “among the most talented solo performers of his (or any) generation.”
