Batman shows his Pride in San Francisco

One of the most exciting, immersive shows just hit San Francisco and it sports the most amazing cast. Pride in Gotham, subtitled The Dark Knight Came to Slay, has taken over the Hibernia Bank location in San Francisco through June 24.

Pow! Shazam! This has been billed as the biggest soiree of the year, filled with familiar faces. And those faces are not only Batman characters we know and love like the Joker, Catwoman, the Penguin and Robin, but the most talented of San Francisco performers are all participating: Peaches Christ, D’Arcy Drollinger,  Rory Davis, Lisa Frankenstein, Jessie Flores, tp name a few.

The real star here is Michael Phillis who plays the Joker. Phillis is not only the creative brain behind this (even though if you ask him he’d share the applause), but he is also the creative man behind the male burlesque show Baloney and has a funny one man show called Patty From HR.

When you see the name, Michael Phillis, you need to buy tickets. Even if it’s not his show and he has a small part, he is a scene stealer and is able to make the most of anything he works on.

Interactive shows aren’t new – I still think of the many great productions from Boxcar Theatre and their Speakeasy show. But they don’t come often. This is the time you can not only see a show — but be part of it. But like any show that has a theme of a gala event, if you want to be part of it, you have to dress the part (and they request your black tie best).

It’s a night of theatre! A night of cocktails! It’s a night of 45 great performers offering a night you will never forget.
