Starring Carey Mulligan, Bradley Cooper, Matt Bomer, Maya Hawke, Sarah Silverman, Josh Hamilton, Scott Ellis, Gideon Glick, Sam Nivola, Alexa Swinton, Miriam Shor, the film addresses Bernstein’s lifelong bisexuality and its impact on his marriage and family.
Bernstein, who died in 1990 at age 72, was married to actor and activist Felicia Montealegre and together they had three children. However, it was known in the culture that Bernstein was at the very least bisexual, and after his death it was revealed that his wife acknowledged that he had sexual relationships with men. Fellow Travelers star Matt Bomer plays one of Bernstein’s lovers in the Netflix biopic.
