ALOK to make special appearances at Transhealth events
Performance artist and leading transgender activist ALOK will feature in two special events for Transhealth.
ALOK will be the headliner at the Love & Crafting Night on April 7 and at Transhealth’s Birthday Benefit on May 6.
Join Transhealth on Friday, April 7 from 6-7:30pm at High-Five Books in Florence for an ALOK Admiration and Crafting Night! In anticipation of ALOK’s visit to Florence in May there will be a live stream of videos of their spoken word poetry, and ALOK will also read from their book in real time, and create welcoming signs for guests. All ages welcome.
Additionally, don’t miss Transhealth’s annual Birthday Party Benefit featuring world-renowned Alok Vaid-Menon on Saturday, May 6 at 6:30pm at the Bombyx Center for Arts and Equity in Florence, Mass. You will celebrate two years of Transhealth’s gender-affirming care, make a wish, and blow out the candles with pride and intention into a third year of providing life-saving care and community.
Transhealth will be closed on Friday March 31 in honor of International Transgender Day of Visibility.
In the meantime, join on March 23 at 6pm at Transhealth for a Matchbox Zine Workshop, a free event co-hosted by the Janson Center at Smith College and open for the trans, gender-diverse, and LGBTQ Community, all ages welcome. Save the date for a fun night of Pride Trivia on Sunday, May 7 from 4-6pm at Abandoned Building Brewery in Easthampton. Come dressed as your favorite queer icon while testing your smarts on pride pop-culture.
