Applications now open for first of its kind LGBTQ+ nursing fellowship at Callen-Lorde
The Keith Haring Nurse Practitioner Postgraduate Fellowship in LGBTQ+ Health is the only accredited program in LGBTQ+ health in the country.
Help advance LGBTQ+ health care! As a non-profit community health center and global leader in LGBTQ health, Callen-Lorde accepts patients regardless of insurance status or ability to pay. And to help facilitate this, a new nurse practitioner fellowship opportunity is welcoming applications as of Friday, December 1.
Beginning December 1, 2023 through February 1, 2024 Callen-Lorde will be accepting applications for its groundbreaking Keith Haring Nurse Practitioner Postgraduate Fellowship. Applications are encouraged from across the country with the goal of increasing quality healthcare for LGBTQ+ people in every corner of America.
If you are a family or adult-geri nurse practitioner interested in improving health care for LGBTQ+ people, this is an opportunity! Apply for Callen-Lorde’s Keith Haring Nurse Practitioner Postgraduate Fellowship. Spend a year in NYC learning from global leaders in LGBTQ+ and HIV healthcare.
“The Keith Haring Nurse Practitioner Postgraduate Fellowship is transforming healthcare for LGBTQ+ people. Health care providers receive very little if any training on LGBTQ+ health care meanwhile one-third of LGB people and three-fifths of transgender and nonbinary people report experiencing discrimination in healthcare settings,” said Catherine Trossello, Director of the Keith Haring Nurse Practitioner Postgraduate Fellowship.
“If you are a family or adult-geri nurse practitioner anywhere in the country and you are interested in learning how to care for LGBTQ+ populations we’d love to see your application to join the fellowship.”
