Deborah Cox spreads Holiday cheer

Multi-platinum recording artist Deborah Cox is joining The Gay Men’s Chorus of South Florida to help spread some Holiday cheer! 

The Gay Men’s Chorus of South Florida’s highly anticipated holiday concert returns to Hard Rock Live at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Fla. on Sunday, Dec. 19 at 7 p.m. “Holidays at Hard Rock Live!” will feature an evening of festive and celebratory music from the Gay Men’s Chorus of South Florida accompanied by Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter and actress Deborah Cox.

The 130-member Gay Men’s Chorus of South Florida is the largest gay men’s chorus in the Southeastern U.S. and is beginning its 12th season.  The chorus has become one of the region’s largest and most successful community-based choruses celebrated for outstanding musicianship, creative programming and community outreach. Each year, the chorus reaches more than 20,000 audience members with its messages of love and inclusion.

Tickets for “Holidays at Hard Rock Live!” are on sale now and cost $80, $60, $50 and $40. VIP packages are available for purchase. All seats are reserved and available at all Ticketmaster outlets online at www.myhrl.com and www.ticketmaster.com.

PLEASE NOTE: Doors open one hour before show time. Additional fees may apply. Attendees will be required to wear masks and show proof of COVID-19 vaccination or proof of a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours prior to the show.

Deborah Cox is a Grammy-nominated recording artist and a world-renowned talent across the worlds of music, Broadway, television, film, and fashion. With a career spanning more than two decades, Deborah has released six critically-acclaimed career albums, including her debut album, Deborah Cox (1995), One Wish (1998), The Morning After (2002), Remixed (2003), Destination Moon (2007), and The Promise (2008). 

An established songstress, Cox has scaled the R&B and pop charts with six top 20 Billboard magazine R&B singles and thirteen No. 1 hits on Billboard’s Hot Dance Club Play Chart. In addition to her illustrious musical catalog, the Canadian-born star has been recognized and awarded for her undying commitment to various social justice initiatives, including advocacy for LGBTQ2S+ rights, support for those living with HIV/AIDS, and the fight for Human Rights and Equality for all. In 2020, Deborah was honored with the Black Music Honors’ Entertainer Icon Award in recognition of her 25 ground-breaking years in the music industry.

She is currently winning rave reviews for her role as Regina on BET’s “First Wives Club” and starring in the highly-anticipated HBO MAX series “Station Eleven,” debuting in late 2021. In addition, Deborah was recently awarded a prestigious Black Women in Media Award for her contribution to the entertainment industry. Following the success of her hit single “Easy Way,” Deborah also has new music on the way and is working toward the release of her seventh career studio album due early next year.  

About Gay Men’s Chorus of South Florida

The Gay Men’s Chorus of South Florida pursues a mission of inspiring through song. The Chorus continues to realize this mission in ways that can only be considered extraordinary. In its short history, the Chorus has grown to over one-hundred-and-thirty men and has become the largest gay men’s chorus in the southeastern United States. 

The Gay Men’s Chorus of South Florida is under the direction of Artistic Director & Conductor Gabe Salazar. The Chorus has earned a strong reputation for excellence, garnering prestigious invitations to perform throughout the South Florida region.  

The Chorus reached a significant milestone in December 2016, when it collaborated with Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood to perform its holiday concert at Hard Rock Live! The two entities have continued this partnership, now in its fifth year.  Prior guest artists have included Linda Eder, Alan Cumming, Matthew Morrison, and Jordin Sparks. Annually, through a combination of the mainstage, outreach, and educational performances, the Gay Men’s Chorus of South Florida reaches more than 20,000 individuals.
