First look at fun gay payback film, Do Revenge
Netflix has released the trailer and teaser images to their new film Do Revenge, starring out actress Ava Capri.
Remember high school? For a lot of us it was a minefield of homophobia and bullying. Well, Netflix has Do Revenge coming down the pike, a cathartic dark comedy for those of us who suffered and would enjoy a fun purge.
Drea (Camila Mendes, Riverdale) is at the peak of her high school powers as the Alpha it-girl on campus when her entire life goes up in flames after her sex tape gets leaked to the whole school, seemingly by her boyfriend and king of the school, Max (Austin Abrams, Euphoria). Eleanor (Maya Hawke, Stranger Things) is an awkward queer transfer student who is angered to find out that she now has to go to school with her old bully, Carissa (Ava Capri, Love, Victor).
Carisa started a rumor that Eleanor held her down and kissed her at summer camp when they were 13, making her appear like a predator to all their schoolmates. After a clandestine run-in at tennis camp, Drea and Eleanor form an unlikely and secret friendship to get revenge on each other’s tormentors.
Do Revenge, the sophomore film from director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, is a subverted Hitchcock-ian dark comedy, in the style of Heathers and Jawbreaker, featuring the scariest protagonists of all: teenage girls. The film also stars Rish Shah, Talia Ryder, Jonathan Daviss, Maia Reficco, Paris Berelc, Alisha Boe and Sophie Turner and is co-written by Celeste Ballard and Jennifer Kaytin Robinson.
Do Revenge premieres September 16, only on Netflix.
