Here’s how you can celebrate Lesbian Visibility Week
Lesbian Visibility Week is April 22 to April 28 this year and the Curve Foundation, the only national nonprofit championing lesbian and queer women’s culture and stories, will be spearheading a variety of initiatives and activities.
The Curve Foundation (TCF) programs leverage over 30 years of history and culture in Curve magazine, connecting the community across generations. TCF supports journalists who tell LGBTQ+ women’s stories and produces speakers series to connect the community directly with today’s culture makers through intersectional, intergenerational conversations on gender, queerness, race, ability, and activism.
To ensure that LGBTQ+ women and nonbinary people are seen and recognized for their contributions to society, The Curve Foundation is championing Lesbian Visibility Week in the United States.
Curve’s Lesbian Visibility Week programming includes:
- Inaugural Curve Power List of LGBTQ+ women and nonbinary trailblazers, nominated by the public
- Unprecedented Research on the LGBTQ+ women and nonbinary community’s experience and needs that will contribute to the world’s first Inclusion Index and the new Brand Inclusion Index
- The release of the Lesbian Visibility Week issue of the Curve Quarterly
- Indigenous Women’s Water Ceremony and panel led by Two-Spirit IndigeQueer community leaders
- Speaker Series including panels on critical topics such as LGBTQ+ Women in the Corporate Workplace, Intersections of Disability and Queerness, Race and Sexuality, Trans Inclusion, the Importance of Intergenerational Conversations, and Preserving Our Stories
- Lighting up Iconic Buildings across the US in the colors of the lesbian flag
- Photo Exhibition showcasing the beautiful diversity of our community
- Film Spotlight: Live in-theater and virtual film screenings plus Queer Women of Color Short Films Festival
