Lotte New York Palace honors LGBTQ+ community with historic guided tours

In honor of Pride Month this June, the Lotte New York Palace, in partnership with the Historical Society of New York, will be offering guided tours to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and its deep-rooted history in New York City.

The “Palace Historian,” Kevin Draper, will be guiding guests throughout New York City’s queer epicenter, Greenwich Village, highlighting historically significant sites and locales that have hosted pinnacle moments in LGBTQ+ history.

Kevin Draper is a sought after New York City Historian and Co-Founder of New York Historical Tours. For information about all of Draper’s tours
please call (646) 320-1277.

This private, two-hour tour takes place throughout the month of June and kicks off at 7th Avenue & Christopher Street, priced at $299 for up to six guests.

Guests of the Palace, locals, and visitors to NYC can book the tour through the concierge or here.

When asked about the sites on tour, Palace Historian Draper said, “Greenwich Village has a long and diverse history that has made it the epicenter of LGBTQ+ life in New York City. It is one of the most important neighborhoods not just in NYC, but also in the country.”

This experience has been curated to be informative, engaging, and inspirational, while creating an opportunity to honor the people and places that have paved the way to make the LGBTQ+ community what it is today.

The Lotte New York Palace, located in Midtown, is proud to welcome guests of all backgrounds through its doors. The Palace is honored to be offering this tour to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and highlight the historically significant destinations that are each an important piece of LGBTQ+ history, such as the AIDS Memorial, Waverly Theatre, and Arthur’s Tavern.

Here are some of the historical stops and notable figures mentioned in the guided walking tour:
