Lucinda Williams announces Summer tour dates

Award-winning Americana music legend Lucinda Williams has announced select August and September tour dates.

With a four-decade celebrated career, 14 acclaimed studio albums, multiple awards and honors, immeasurable influence, and uncompromising artistic integrity, at 69 years young Lucinda Williams show no signs of slowing down. Her 2020 album Good Souls Better Angels received two Grammy nominations and rave reviews, including this one from PopMatters:

Lucinda Williams

Better Souls Good Angels was written and recorded well before the pandemic. But the album, with its darkness tinged with glimmers of hope, its rage touched with tenderness, is very much one for our terrible time.”

Rolling Stone gave the album a 4-star review and calling it “…her Best LP since 1998’s Car Wheels On A Gravel Road.” Williams has been written up in high-circulating outlets and sites such as the New York Times, Billboard, Los Angeles Times, Huffington Post, NPR’s All Things Considered, The Daily Beast, Rolling Stone Country, AARP.com, Paste and so much more.

Williams landed on many a lesbian’s playlist when she scored a spot on the coveted soundtrack to hit Showtime series, The L Word with the heartfelt, toe-tapping, sexy track “Right In Time.” But the raw power of her voice, her rock chick looks, and her unwavering brilliance as a storyteller through timeless lyrics have harnessed her appeal, longterm.

Now, the three-time Grammy Award winner has gigs up the East Coast before concluding her tour with two festivals in the Midwest in early September. Williams will be accompanied by her long-time band featuring Stuart Mathis on guitar, Jim Oblon on guitar and keys, Butch Norton on drums and David Sutton on bass. Williams is touring with the equally iconic Bonnie Raitt until late June.
