Peccadillo Sofa Club invites you to stay in

Seeking a fun but cozier way to watch LGBTQ+ movies? Read on…

As we continue to work towards normalcy in the post-pandemic era, many people still feel uncomfortable gathering in heavily populated public spaces. After all, many of us can now work from home, so why can’t we socialize or take in some culture from the comfort and safety of our living rooms too? That’s where the Peccadillo Sofa Club comes in.

Peccadillo Pictures is giving us all a good reason to stay in, especially during the cold winter months, with the second season of its Sofa Club screenings and live Q&As with filmmakers. Peccadillo Sofa Club takes the audience on a trip through a wide variety of LGBTQ+ films by encouraging them to watch the movies from home, online, but with the added bonus of getting to talk to the filmmakers too.  Created during the first UK lockdown as a means of continuing a regular communication with its audience, Peccadillo Sofa Club has developed that engagement further with more diverse screenings, supported by the BFI Audience Fund.

Each week, audiences across the world are invited to watch a drama or documentary simultaneously online, interacting on social media before the film’s director takes part in a post-screening Q&A via YouTube, Twitter and Facebook. The events are produced by Johnny Lochland and James Loosemore.

Upcoming screenings include:

13th FEBRUARY – SUBLIME

Featuring discussions with Argentinian director Mariano Baisin and stars Martin Miller and Teo Inama Chiabrando. Hosted By Chris New.

22nd FEBRUARY – FIFTY YEARS LEGAL documentary

With director Simon Napier-Bell and a number of LGBTQ activists (to be announced shortly).

Other film guests and dates for the Peccadillo Sofa Club will be announced shortly.

All previous Sofa Club Q&A’s are available to view on Peccadillo’s YouTube Channel.
