Sex is back in this city!

It’s hard to believe Pride month is almost over and I never had a chance to talk about sex. Sex and the City Live that is.

The first-ever Drag Laureate D’Arcy Drollinger is still the producer behind the sendup of the famed TV show, which will play through July 8 at San Francisco’s Oasis.

Like many of the dragged-up versions of popular TV shows, Sex will bring us two episodes of the infamous show bringing back Drollinger as Samantha, Sue Casa as Carrie and Stephen LeMay as Charlotte.

Fans of the long-running drag version might note a cast change as noticeable as Darrens from Bewitched…and just like that, Lady Bear is NOT returning as Miranda. Now all, be open-minded. Vanilla Meringue will likely be a lovely new addition. Sure, we will miss Lady Bear, but the second Darren had great appeal and the second Becky on Roseanne was also lovely.

In talking with Drollinger, I wanted to see if she’d spill the tea on why the replacement. But Drollinger assured me it’s not as dramatic as the SJP/Kim Cattrell feud. “Lady Bear was busy with the AIDS Lifecycle and work,” Drollinger says. “The timing just didn’t work out.”

But they decided they need to move forward as seeing our local gal pals in the summer is just as important as The Golden Girls in the winter.

So get ready to toss back some Cosmos while reliving some of our favorite Sex episodes – and just in time for the season premiere of And Just Like That.
