South Beach’s annual LGBTQ+ street festival is back for its third year!

On January 28, 2024 the third annual My Hollywood Pride street festival, celebrating the South Florida LGBTQ+ community, returns to Downtown Hollywood as the first Pride of 2024 anywhere in the world. The 2024 theme will be “Pride Starts Here!”

The event will be presented by the Quadraci-Cabrera family, local philanthropists who have supported the event since its inception. They will be partnering with the National LGBTQ Task Force, the nation’s oldest LGBTQ advocacy organization. Their mission to advance full freedom, justice, and equality for LGBTQ people dates back to their inception in 1973 and they have been at the forefront of the LGBTQ movement. The collaboration with community leaders like the Quadracci-Cabrera family and the Task Force continues the tradition that My Hollywood Pride has built on since its inception.

The fun-filled weekend of advocacy begins Friday night with a Circle of Pride business networking event on Hollywood Beach. On Saturday morning, the Pride 100 Brunch will celebrate Hollywood’s 100 score on the Human Rights Campaign Municipal Equality Index. The event will also recognize 2024 Trailblazer honoree Franchesca D’Amore, a Hollywood resident who is a community activist and former Board member of The Hollywood LGBTQ Council and current Board Member of Safe Schools South Florida. The brunch is followed by a special Progress Pride flag raising ceremony at Anniversary Park (1945 Hollywood Blvd. Hollywood, FL 33020) led by My Hollywood Pride 2024 Chair Todd Delmay. Saturday night will be the first Queer Comedy Night, which expands the diverse programming for the weekend. On Sunday the main Street Festival event will be hosted by Emmy award-winning news anchor Craig Stevens of WSVN Ch. 7 and host of the self-titled show—”FayWhat Show”, FayWhat!

“The importance of My Hollywood Pride has grown exponentially each year,” says Todd Delmay. “Our focus of making the festival event inclusive for young people, families and our allies has definitely contributed to its uniqueness and the way it is embraced as a touchstone in the Pride calendar. It isn’t just the attacks on our community that draw us together, but the opportunity to show love and acceptance for everyone, especially young people who need it the most.”

“My Hollywood Pride is an important event for our community as we have successfully launched a Pride event in a city that is not known for having a large LGBTQ community,” says Fundraising Director Jeff Oliverio. “This event demonstrates that LGBTQ people and their allies are part of every community and celebrates our diversity while creating more visibility. The current environment is challenging for LGBTQ events due to the attacks aimed at our community through state legislation which creates fear for sponsors and local governments to continue their support of Pride events. We hope that My Hollywood Pride will grow and evolve and that our model for an inclusive, family Pride event will stand out and be a destination where everyone can feel at home!”

Attendees will flock to Hollywood Boulevard to shop a dynamic assortment of art, apparel and more made by local artists; savor food from local restaurants and enjoy entertainment by a diverse mix of entertainers including globally renowned singer and songwriter Janice Robinson.
