Take a first look at Hocus Pocus 2
The witches are back! Today Disney+ released the first trailer to the anxiously awaited Hocus Pocus 2.
A sequel two decades in the making, the teaser trailer introduces us to two teenage witches who unwittingly resurrect the notorious Sanderson Sisters using the nefarious black flame candle on Halloween night!
The original Hocus Pocus from 1993 is not only a Halloween favorite, but also, a queer classic. Starring three gay icons: Bette Midler (Winifred Sanderson), Sarah Jessica Parker (Sarah Sanderson) and Kathy Najimy (Mary Sanderson); and filled to the brim with camp, there’s nary a gay man of the 40+ crowd that hasn’t at least seen this film.
This time around the Sanderson Sisters will be joined by Rupaul’s Drag Race Royalty Ginger Minj, Kahmora Hall and Kornbread “The Snack” Jeté, a most welcome infusion of actual queerness into the beloved franchise.
Hocus Pocus 2 will premiere on Disney+ September 30.
